2010 is the beginning of a new decade which many Africans are hopeful will be Africa’s decade in forward movements & newly found respect on the global stage. Africa, South Africa in particular, will play host to the World Cup for the first time in the history of international football, welcoming the world’s game to African soil and welcoming some of the world’s best players back home. All eyes will be on Africa in this new decade as the world gets a peek into the continent, individual nations, cultures & people through the world’s game of football.

In Africa, football is more than just a sport; it is the ultimate unifier & divider, the ultimate in extreme fanaticism practiced more than most religions, the keeper of young boys & their families dreams out of hardships, poverty & wayward lifestyles into a better life, as well as the ultimate in pride & hope of every individual nation on the continent. Football has been known to bring silence to the screams of war, hope in times of despair & the highest in exultation of national pride & shared contentment despite any divides in tribalism, politics, religion, and national borders.
