A Look at Classic New York City:Fun city revisited the Lindsay Years

I want to start a crusade to basically dump the brain drain of cable television with its high prices in honor of a resurgence & celebration of the history & education that seems to be getting lost, yet feverishly pushed by public television. As the saying goes “one must know where one comes from in order to know where one’s going & if we don’t learn the lessons of our past we are bound to repeat them in the future“.

New York city doesn’t seem to have learned from the past & seems to have forgotten its history as the rich get richer while the poor get poorer, as government seems to work only for a certain minority sector of society while leaving out the majority. As I watched “Fun City revisited: the Lindsay Years” on public televison, I couldn’t help but to see the similarities of New York’s past reflecting in its present. As current mayor, Bloomberg  plays the blame game with Albany without taking any blame of his own, while escalating the wealth of a certain sector of society by deflating services to others, New York’s heartbeat & the creative spirit that pumps the heart of city is slowly getting faint.   It seems everyone is getting a bailout except the common everyday man/woman/child that is the heartbeat of the city. Services are being cut, teachers are losing jobs, schools are closing and it is obvious to see “the haves” & “have nots” as you walk through any neighborhood in the city & see how everyday taxpayer services are being rendered in the upkeep, maintenance & quality of life of neighborhoods, whether it’s in how fast snow gets plowed or garbage gets pick up. It is time for a people’s revolution a la the Lindsay years for the voices of the “have nots” to be heard loud & clear to remind the politicians who they work for & who is the heartbeat of the city. Once the heartbeat stops the city will be dead!

I say to you, I certainly get irked even though men and women consider worries that they plainly don’t know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top as well as defined out the entire thing without having side-effects , folks could take a signal. Will probably be back to get far more. Thanks xrumer
